Why Triple Knot
As a teenager sailing aboard a traditional wooden schooner, Luke was first introduced to woodworking and the discipline of craftsmanship at sea. The name Triple Knot reflects three meanings that continue to shape his work: the strength of a rope knot pulled tight, the nautical measure of speed that recalls life under sail, and the natural knot in wood that gives each piece its character.
Luke is drawn to woodworking because it demands intention. Every step must be done deliberately, knowing that shortcuts or small defects will inevitably reveal themselves in the finished piece. That discipline is especially true in custom cabinetry and built-ins, where precision, fit, and finish matter as much as design. Unlike much of our modern work, carpentry creates something tangible—furniture and spaces built into the fabric of a home, meant to be used daily and passed down through generations of families.
